Acer has released an upgraded version of its Acer Predator gaming PC in Japan. The new Predator ASG7710-A41 is powered by Intel’s 3.06GHz Core i7-950 processor with a 6GB of DDR3 memory (and support up to 12GB of RAM), twin NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 1GB video cards for extreme graphics, Acer’s G15 gaming keyboard and G9 gaming mouse. Measuring only 4.3-inch x 2.1-inch x 1-inch and weighing just 260 grams, this palm size projector provides a 800 x 600 resolution, 33 lumens brightness, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a 1GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 1,700mAh rechargeable battery that lasts up to 35 minutes in use time. Acer has rolled out two new desktops from its M-Series in the form of the ASM5800 and ASM3202. The Acer ASM5800 features a 2.83GHz Core 2 Quad Q9550 CPU with up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 1TB of SATA HDD (7200rpm), a Blu-Ray disc drive, and a choice of ATI Radeon HD 4650 (1GB of VRAM) GPU or nVidia GeForce GT 230 (1.5GB of VRAM). Sony has announced two new e-book readers this week in the form of the PRS-300 and PRS-600. The PRS-300 features a 5-inch LCD display with no audio output and no memory card slot. Samsung has announced a new line-up of high-density hard drives ‘Spinpoint F3′ which are aimed at high-end computing environments. Coming in 500GB and 1TB capacities, these new 3.5-inch drives work at 7200RPM and feature a 3.0 Gbps SATA interface, Native Command Queuing (NCQ), a 16MB/32MB buffer memory, and make use of 500GB platters. Kodak will release the new Zi8 HD ultra-portable camcorder in September 2009. As a successor to the Zi6 and the Zx1, the new Zi8 comes with a larger 2.5-inch LCD, a face recognition, an image stabilization, and a 1080p HD recording. Users can also upload pictures directly to YouTube and Facebook. In addition, the camcorder has a flip-out USB arm for connection to a computer.
