New Asus M4A79XTD EVO 790X Mortherboard

Asus is gearing up to release a new AM3 board, the M4A79XTD EVO. Based on AMD 790X / SB750 chipset, the board features an 8+2 phase power design, supports AMD Phenom II and Athlon II processors, and comes with four DDR3-1800 memory slots as well as two PCIe x16 slots for CrossFirex setups. In addition, the board also comes with several connectivity ports including eSATA, seven SATA 3.0 Gbps, 7.1 channel audio, Gigabit Ethernet and FireWire. The M4A79XTD EVO is expected to hit stores later this month for unannounced price yet.

Our friends at Engadget Spanish have a new toy in their office. Asus has sent them the ASUS O!Play HDP-R1 media player. The gadget supports an HD video playback in a wide variety of codecs, including MPEG1/2/4, H.264, VC-1, and RM/RMVB. Unfortunately, there is no info on pricing or release date in the US. Asus will release this HD media player in Taiwan for around $169. See more pictures after the jump.

Pegatron is actually a subsidiary of Asus, but the Medion Akoya Mini E2076 D looks sexier than any Asus-branded nettop. ASUS Releases Custom-Cooled 1GB Radeon HD 4870

ASUS has come out with a new graphics card in the form of the Radeon HD 4870. The EAH4870/HTDI/1GD5 integrates 800 Stream Processors, a 256-bit memory interface, a 1GB of GDDR5 memory @ 3600MHz, two DVI outputs, CrossFireX support and the new Glaciator+ fansink for keeping the card some 12% cooler than the reference solution. The ASUS Radeon HD 4870 is now available in the UK for £108.99 ($178).

ASUS Announces The T1 Series TV Monitors

ASUS has announced a new range of TV monitors in the form of the T1 series. Available in 21.5-inch, 23.6-inch and 27-inch versions, the T1s offer a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 5ms response time, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 20,000:1 contrast ratio and a built-in TV tuner (for both digital and analog signals). In addition, the T1 series also integrate 7W speakers and multiple connectors including two HDMI, two SCART, a D-Sub, Composite, Component, S-Video, an audio-in, a S/PDIF out, an audio out and an earphone out. ASUS has unveiled its upcoming motherboard ‘Maximus III Formula’ that is based on the Intel P55 chipset. This high-end socket provides a heap of power phases, four dual channel-ready DDR3 memory slots, three PCI-Express x16 slots for multi-GPU setups and a secsy cooling system. In addition, it also integrates one eSATA and six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, Gigabit Ethernet, Power, Reset, Clear CMOS buttons and a large number of overclocking perks. The Maximus III Formula is expected to hit stores in later Q3 for unannounced price yet.
